So, where did it all start?
Before Brock Taylor existed, our Horsham branch was operated by another estate agent, Bruce Trent. Bruce Trent originally opened its doors in 1976 and continued trading until 1992, when Chris Brock and Martin Taylor acquired the business and rebranded under the new name of Brock Taylor.
In 2007, Peter Maskell acquired the business with a co-director, but now owns the company jointly with his wife, Lucy.
From success in Horsham to our expansion to Haywards Heath: a tale of two cities
Our stylish, contemporary Horsham office is located right in the heart of Horsham town centre on the corner of East Street and Market Square. Having occupied this desirable town centre location since Brock Taylor was founded in 1992, we have witnessed Horsham undergo several modernisations, including the renovation of East Street into the bustling hub it is today lined with trendy restaurants and bars that attract people from in and around Horsham looking for a taste of city life combined with historic rural charm.
This ideal location means that we benefit from high footfall from passers-by who either pop in during opening hours and are greeted by our friendly, welcoming staff or peruse the houses we have for sale on our 47˝ interactive touchscreen that runs 24 hours day, 7 days a week.
With the company’s phenomenal success came the need to grow our team to serve our customers better. Originally comprising three people, it now includes more than twenty full and part-time employees. This exceptional growth led to us becoming the market leader in the Horsham area, consistently outselling our competitors, so in 2021 we decided to expand our offering to Mid Sussex by opening a second branch in Haywards Heath.
Our new office is perfectly located in the heart of the town centre in a highly visible location on The Broadway, perfectly nestled between lots of trendy bars and restaurants. This means that we have lots of passers-by who can examine our super-bright, fully digital property display screens, and we also receive a high volume of walk-in enquiries, both of which speed up the sale process for our customers.
